〆Osaka Gas makes first LNG bunkering to MOL’s dedicated iron ore carrier — 大阪ガス、商船三井のLNG燃料鉄鋼原料船に初供給

On 21 April 2025, Osaka Gas (Osaka Gas Network) commenced liquefied natural gas (LNG) bunkering operations using the “shore to ship” method, marking the first time a city gas supplier in Japan has delivered LNG directly to a vessel from a shore-side facility. The inaugural recipient was a steel raw material carrier operated by Mitsui O.S.K. Lines (MOL) for JFE Steel, powered by LNG fuel. As LNG emits less carbon dioxide (CO₂) than conventional heavy fuel oil, Osaka Gas aims to establish a supply framework aligned with the shipping industry’s transition towards decarbonisation.

〆大阪ガス、商船三井のLNG燃料鉄鋼原料船に初供給。岸壁から直接、脱炭素移行を後押し

 　大阪ガスは2025年4月21日、都市ガス事業者として初めて、岸壁から直接船舶に液化天然ガス（LNG）を供給する「Shore to Ship」方式によるLNGバンカリングを開始した。初回の供給対象は、商船三井が運航するJFEスチール向けのLNG燃料を使用する鉄鋼原料輸送船。従来の重油燃料に比べて二酸化炭素（CO₂）の排出量を削減できるLNGを活用し、大阪ガスは海運業界の脱炭素化に向けた移行期に対応する供給体制を整備する。
