Nagasaki Prefecture Unites Five Shipyards to Launch Industry-Government-Academia Council Aimed at Revitalising Shipbuilding Industry

長崎県、県内5造船所が結集、造船産業の活性化へ産学官連携、人材確保と環境対応を議論

On 2 June, Nagasaki Prefecture held the inaugural meeting of the “Nagasaki Prefecture Shipbuilding Promotion Liaison Council” to revitalise its shipbuilding industry and secure skilled labour.

Representatives from five local shipyards, including Mitsubishi Heavy Industries’ Nagasaki Shipyard, Oshima Shipbuilding, and Sasebo Heavy Industries, gathered alongside educational institutions such as Nagasaki University and technical high schools, as well as the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism (MLIT) and local governments.

The meeting focused on concrete strategies to address environmental vessel development, naval vessel repair, and workforce development. As the first initiative of its kind to cover an entire prefecture, it is expected to also factor in international competition with China and South Korea and the evolving U.S.-Japan tariff negotiations.

　長崎県は6月2日、県内の造船業の振興と人材確保に向けた「長崎県造船振興連絡会議」を初開催した。　

　三菱重工業長崎造船所、大島造船所、佐世保重工業など5社と、長崎大学や工業高校などの教育機関、さらに国土交通省や県内自治体を含む産学官が一堂に会し、環境対応船の導入、艦艇修繕、人材育成などの具体策について議論した。

　会議体の設立は県全域を対象とするものとして全国でも初の事例とされ、今後は中国・韓国との国際競争や日米間の関税交渉の動向も視野に入れた展開が期待される。

本文では「長崎県造船振興連絡会議」を中心にした県内造船所の今後の連携についても詳述している。
