飛鳥Ⅲ、母港の横浜港に初入港

The newly built cruise ship Asuka III, operated by NYK Cruises, part of the NYK Group, made her first call at her home port of Yokohama on 2 June 2025.
Constructed at the renowned German shipyard MEYER WERFT, the vessel combines state-of-the-art technology with comfort, including LNG-compatible engines and balcony staterooms throughout. Together with Asuka II, the two-ship lineup is expected to herald a new era for Japanese cruise culture, drawing attention both domestically and internationally.

In 2019, NYK sold 50% of the shares in its wholly owned subsidiary NYK Cruises Co., Ltd. to Anchor Ship Partners Co., Ltd. and its related special purpose company. The cruise business is now operated under a joint management structure between NYK and Anchor Ship Partners.

Further, in February 2025, NYK and NYK Cruises announced a strategic partnership with Oriental Land, aiming to launch Disney Cruise Line services based in Japan around fiscal year 2028. The introduction of a Japan-flagged cruise vessel is also under consideration, providing momentum for future growth in the Japanese cruise market.

　日本郵船（NYK）グループの郵船クルーズ（NYK CRUISES）が運航する新造客船「飛鳥Ⅲ」が、2025年6月2日、母港・横浜港に初入港した。

　建造はドイツの名門マイヤー・ヴェルフト（MEYER WERFT）造船所で行われ、LNG対応エンジンや全室バルコニー付き客室など、最新技術と快適性を融合。「飛鳥Ⅱ」との2隻体制で、日本のクルーズ文化に新たな時代を拓く旗艦として、国内外から期待が高まっている。

　2019年に日本郵船は、子会社である郵船クルーズ株式会社の株式50％を、アンカー・シップ・パートナーズ株式会社（Anchor Ship Partners Co., Ltd.）およびその関連特定目的会社に売却。現在は日本郵船とアンカー・シップ・パートナーズの共同運営体制のもとで事業を展開している。

さらに日本郵船と郵船クルーズは2025年2月、オリエンタルランドと共同で、2028年度をめどに日本を拠点としたディズニー・クルーズラインの運航開始を目指す業務提携を発表。日本籍船の導入も視野に入れており、今後の日本のクルーズ市場における成長に弾みをつけるものとなっている。
