英子会社通じ液化CO₂輸送でリード

On 8 September, Kawasaki Kisen Kaisha, Ltd. (K Line) announced that its London-based subsidiary, K Line Energy Shipping (UK) Limited (KLES), has signed a memorandum of understanding to participate in the joint development of the “Havstjerne” carbon capture and storage (CCS) project on the Norwegian Continental Shelf.

Key Points of the Article

→The memorandum was concluded with Havstjerne CCS partner companies: the UK independent oil and gas company Harbour Energy, and Stella Maris CCS, a subsidiary of the Malaysian offshore services major Yinson Production.

→K Line is already operating the world’s first full-scale commercial CCS transport vessel. By taking responsibility for transport in the Havstjerne CCS project, Kawasaki Kisen intends to accelerate its decarbonisation strategy in shipping through CCS transport.

川崎汽船は9月8日、ロンドン拠点の子会社Kライン・エナジーシッピング（UK）リミテッド（KLES）が、ノルウェー大陸棚における二酸化炭素（CO₂）回収・貯留（CCS）プロジェクト「ハブストイルネ（Havstjerne）CCS」の共同開発に参画する覚書を締結したと発表した。
