The moves by South Korea’s shipbuilding giants are sending shockwaves through the American shipbuilding industry. According to Reuters, HD Hyundai Heavy Industries is in discussions with multiple firms about acquiring US shipyards, with a target of generating $2.2 billion annually from US Navy shipbuilding projects by 2035.
