First Newbuilding Delivered: Chemical Tanker “GOLDEN THETIS”

初の新造船竣工 ケミカルタンカー「GOLDEN THETIS」

NYK Group’s NYK Energy Ocean Corporation (NEO, headquartered in Yokohama; Representative Director, President and Chief Executive Officer, Koichi Chikaraishi) has announced the delivery of the chemical tanker “GOLDEN THETIS” (25,918 dwt), the company’s first newbuilding since its establishment in April 2025. The vessel was built by Asakawa Shipbuilding (Imabari City, Ehime Prefecture).

Key Points of the Article

→ The vessel is owned by TRADEWIND NAVIGATION S.A., a special purpose company (SPC) of Murakami Sekiyu (Ehime Prefecture). NEO and the SPC have concluded a time charter (TC) agreement, under which NEO will charter the vessel out on a long-term basis to its customers.

→ The delivery of this first newbuilding since NEO’s establishment follows the expansion of its fleet of 47 LPG carriers, chemical/product tankers and dry bulk vessels inherited at launch, and symbolises the company’s future growth in the energy transport business.

 日本郵船グループのNYK Energy Ocean Corporation(エヌワイケイ・エナジー・オーシャン:NEO、本社・横浜市、代表取締役社長執行役員・力石晃一氏、Representative Director President and Chief Executive Officer, Koichi Chikaraishi)はこのほど、同社が2025年4月に発足して以降、初の新造船となるケミカルタンカー「GOLDEN THETIS」(2万5918重量トン)が浅川造船(Asakawa Shipbuilding、愛媛県今治市)で竣工したと発表した。

→ 本船は村上石油(Murakami Sekiyu、愛媛県)の特別目的会社(SPC)であるTRADEWIND NAVIGATION S.A.が保有、NEOとSPCが定期用船契約(TC)を結び、NEOが顧客へ長期貸船する。
