Drone attack leaves Russia-linked “shadow fleet” vessel disabled in the Black Sea

According to sources within the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) who spoke to the Kyiv Independent, the Comoros-flagged Suezmax tanker Dashan (165,000 DWT, built in 2005, IMO 9299666), believed to be part of Russia’s “shadow fleet” and sailing in the Black Sea on 10 December, sustained severe damage in a strike carried out by a Sea Baby naval drone.

→ The vessel was reportedly hit while travelling at high speed towards the port of Novorossiysk with its AIS switched off, triggering a large explosion at the stern.

→ Footage released by the SBU shows flames and thick black smoke engulfing the stern, and preliminary assessments described the tanker as “unusable.” The attack marks the third Ukrainian strike on a shadow-fleet tanker within the past two weeks, further destabilising the safety of navigation in the Black Sea.

　ウクライナ保安庁（SBU）の情報源が現地紙キエフ・インディペンデントに語ったところによると、12月10日、黒海を航行していたロシアの“影の船団”所属とみられるスエズマックス級タンカーでコモロ船籍の「ダシャン」（Dashan、165,000DWT、2005年竣工、IMO 9299666）が、Sea Baby海軍ドローンによる攻撃で重大損傷を受けた。
