Singapore-based ship management firm Bilander Ship Management has launched a full-scale inventory and service management support scheme. By strengthening its supply system for life-saving appliances (LSA), fire-fighting appliances (FFA), and navigational instruments, the company seeks to improve the efficiency of spare parts procurement and reduce costs. Enhanced record-keeping and regular reporting systems ensure transparency and reliability. Bilander also plans to link port planning with maintenance schedules to implement an integrated procurement strategy.

The company has now embarked on inventory management support services covering goods and technical supplies. Target items include LSA, FFA, and navigational equipment, with a well-structured procurement system formed through cooperation with several high-quality service providers at the most economical rates.

Consumable and spare part inventories are continuously updated, and weekly reports provide visibility over the overall stock status. A specialist team with extensive expertise in procurement management leverages a global network of trusted manufacturers and suppliers, ensuring the supply of high-quality, cost-effective spare parts.

Of particular note is the post-overhaul physical verification process. Bilander adopts a dual-team cross-checking system to guarantee the reliability of records and the effectiveness of maintenance. This approach ensures alignment between on-paper documentation and actual maintenance status, helping to reduce compliance risks.
