Greek Supramax Bulker Catches Fire in Amsterdam Port
– Blaze breaks out while loading scrap metal; thick smoke spreads across city, residents told to keep windows shut –

A fire broke out at around 17:00 local time on 15 May 2025 aboard the TRADE, a Marshall Islands-flagged Supramax bulk carrier (IMO No. 9425942), while the vessel was loading scrap metal at Amsterdam Scrap Terminal (AST) in the Port of Amsterdam.

Following the outbreak of the fire, thick black smoke billowed from the vessel, spreading across surrounding areas of the Dutch capital. According to local sources, the fire had not been fully extinguished as of the following day, 16 May, and firefighting authorities are reportedly preparing for an extended operation.

The TRADE is believed to be operated by Athens-based Diligent Holdings. Maritime Bridge Japan has reached out to the company for comment by telephone as of 17 May, but no response had been received by 17:00 Japan time.

マーシャル諸島船籍のスープラマックス型ばら積み貨物船「TRADE」（トレード、IMO番号：9425942）で2025年5月15日17時頃、火災が発生した。「TRADE」はオランダ・アムステルダム港のAST（Amsterdam Scrap Terminal）において鉄スクラップを積載中だった。火災後、同船から周辺地域に大量の黒煙が立ち込める事態となっている。

関係者によると、火災が発生した翌日の16日になっても完全には鎮火しておらず、消防当局は長時間の消火活動を想定している。「TRADE」はギリシャ・アテネに本拠を置くDiligent Holdingsが運航していた模様。Maritime Bridge Japanは17日まで同社に電話取材を申し込んでいるが、日本時間の午後5時時点で応答は得られていない。
