Imabari Shipbuilding and Nihon Shipyard announced on 26 September that they had received an order for two Aframax tankers from a Greek shipowner, brokered by Marubeni.

　今治造船と日本シップヤードは9月26日、丸紅の仲介によりギリシャ船主からアフラマックス型タンカー2隻を受注したと発表した。

この記事のポイント

→今治造船にとっては2008年以来となる同型船の受注であり、竣工は2027年と28年を予定している。

→注目されるのは、今回、今治造船が建造手法にかつて採用していたメガブロック工法を再び取り入れる方針を示した点だ。複数の関係者によれば、この工法の採用に伴い、住友重機械工業傘下の住友重機械マリンエンジニアリング（横須賀市）が実質的に新造船事業を再開し、今治造船から船体建造を受託する見通しという。
