“Reviving Shipbuilding Nippon”
Under the Trump administration, Japan and the United States are expected to roll out a series of policies aimed at realising a “Japan–U.S. Shipbuilding Golden Era” and reviving “Shipbuilding Nippon.” According to multiple industry sources, one of the first initiatives being considered is the mutual sharing of shipbuilding slipways among domestic Japanese shipyards to improve construction efficiency.
Key Points of the Article
→ The aim is for shipyards that have secured orders for specific vessel types to outsource construction to other yards, allowing each to make use of vacant slipways in turn.
