On the early morning of June 17, the UAE Coast Guard and Norwegian shipping company Frontline announced that the VLCC (Very Large Crude Carrier) Front Eagle, owned by Frontline, collided in the Gulf of Oman off Fujairah, United Arab Emirates, with the Suezmax-class tanker Adalynn, believed to be part of the Dark Fleet.

Both vessels caught fire, but all crew members were confirmed safe. No oil spill has been reported. Amid ongoing tensions between Israel and Iran, the relevant authorities and Frontline clearly stated that “this is a navigational accident not caused by military conflict.” Meanwhile, a series of reports of electronic interference (jamming) have emerged in the area, raising the possibility that disruption of navigational equipment may have been a factor in the accident.

Lars H. Barstad, CEO of Frontline, responded to an email interview from Maritime Bridge Japan on June 16, the day before the incident occurred, regarding future vessel deployments to the Strait of Hormuz. He stated, “At present, no specific threats have been confirmed, and our operations are proceeding as usual. However, there is a possibility that tensions in the Strait of Hormuz may increase in the future.”

　UAE沿岸警備隊とノルウェー船社フロントラインは6月17日未明、アラブ首長国連邦（UAE）フジャイラ沖のオマーン湾で、同社保有のVLCC（超大型原油タンカー）「フロント・イーグル」と、ダーク・フリートに属するとみられるスエズマックス型タンカー「アダリン」が衝突したと発表した。

　両船は火災を起こしたが、乗組員は全員無事。油流出の報告もない。イスラエル・イラン間の緊張が続く中、関係当局およびフロントラインは「本件は軍事衝突に起因しない航行中の事故」と明言。一方、同海域では電子妨害（ジャミング）の報告が相次いでおり、ナビゲーション機器の混乱が事故要因となった可能性が指摘されている。

　フロントラインCEOのラース・バースタッド氏（Lars H. Barstad）は、この事故が発生する前の日の6月16日、Maritime Bridge Japanの今後のホルムズ海峡への配船についての電子メールでの取材に対し、「現時点で具体的な脅威は確認されておらず、当社の運航は通常通り行われている。ただし今後、ホルムズ海峡での緊張が高まる可能性がある」と答えていた。
