President Hashimoto, New Year’s address: “Phase 2 to focus on investment recovery and enhancement of corporate value”

MOL announced on 6 January that its president, Takeshi Hashimoto, delivered a New Year’s address to all officers and employees of the MOL Group on 5 January.

→ President Hashimoto referred to the forthcoming change in leadership, under which Jotaro Tamura, executive vice president and executive officer, will assume the presidency with effect from 1 April this year, and indicated his intention to accelerate the group’s growth under the new executive structure. He also highlighted the achievements of Phase 1 (fiscal years 2023–2025) of the management plan “BLUE ACTION 2035”, emphasising that shareholders’ equity had been built up to a level of approximately ¥2.5 trillion.

→ With regard to the container shipping company Ocean Network Express (ONE), he made clear that MOL will continue to be involved in management as a shareholder, with the aim of securing a stable profit level of around 10 per cent or more in ROE on a medium- to long-term basis. In Phase 2, starting in fiscal 2026, the group will seek to enhance corporate value through the early monetisation of investments, the maintenance of financial discipline, and the balancing of shareholder returns with growth investment.

　商船三井は6日、橋本剛(Takeshi Hashimoto)社長が5日に商船三井グループの全役職員に向けて年頭挨拶を行ったと発表した。
