Mitsui O.S.K. Lines (MOL) announced on October 28 that it has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the state-owned Shipping Corporation of India (SCI, Managing Director: Binesh Kumar Tyagi) to collaborate on tugboat operations within India.

商船三井(MOL)は10月28日、インド国営のShipping Corporation of India(SCI、Managing Director=Binesh Kumar Tyagi)とインド国内における曳船事業(タグボート事業)の協業に向けた覚書(MOU)を締結したと発表した。
この記事のポイント
→曳船事業とは、大型船舶の港湾での離着桟や狭水域での操船を小型の高出力船が支援する港湾インフラの一部であり、港の安全と物流効率を支える不可欠な役割を担う。
→商船三井グループの曳船事業では2025年に設立した商船三井ベイリンクス(MOL Bay Links)がタグボート事業を統括している。今回、商船三井はインド政府が進める「Green Tug Transition Program」に呼応し、港湾脱炭素化と安全運航体制の強化に乗り出す。
