NYK said on the 19th that it has completed the acquisition procedures for healthcare logistics businesses, including Movianto International B.V., a subsidiary of the European logistics group Walden, through its group company Yusen Logistics (Europe) B.V.

Key points of the article

→ The acquisition price was approximately €1.25bn (about ¥210bn) at the time the acquisition plan was announced in July this year. By bringing in European operations with strengths in the transportation of pharmaceuticals and medical devices, NYK aims to reduce its dependence on shipping and to diversify its sources of earnings.

→ Movianto was established in 2006. It provides transportation across ambient, chilled and frozen temperature ranges, storage in dedicated facilities, and last-mile delivery to hospitals and pharmacies for cargo such as pharmaceuticals, vaccines and biopharmaceutical products, which are subject to stringent quality-assurance requirements.

　日本郵船は19日、グループ会社のYusen Logistics (Europe) B.V.を通じ、欧州物流企業Waldenグループ傘下のMovianto International B.V.（モビアント）などのヘルスケア物流事業の買収手続きを完了したと発表した。

この記事のポイント

→買収額は、今年7月の買収計画の発表時点で約12億5000万ユーロ（約2100億円）。医薬品・医療機器輸送に強みを持つ欧州事業を取り込み、海運依存からの脱却と収益源の多角化を進める。

→モビアントは2006年設立。医薬品、ワクチン、バイオ製品など品質保証が厳格に求められる貨物を対象に、定温・冷蔵・冷凍の各温度帯での輸送、専用倉庫での保管、病院や薬局までのラストマイル配送を提供する。
