On 16 June, Japan’s three major shipping companies—Nippon Yusen Kabushiki Kaisha (NYK), Mitsui O.S.K. Lines (MOL), and Kawasaki Kisen Kaisha (“K” Line)—will receive a combined total of USD 732 million in dividends from Ocean Network Express (ONE), an equity-method affiliate headquartered in Singapore. The shareholding ratios are 38% for NYK, and 31% each for MOL and “K” Line. The strong performance of ONE in FY2024, particularly in its container shipping business, has led to dividend payments proportionate to each shareholder’s stake.

Under Japanese accounting standards, the three shipping majors record ONE’s profits in their consolidated financial statements as “non-operating income (equity in earnings of affiliates).” The equity-method income recorded by the companies reflects their respective accounting share of profits generated by ONE, whereas the dividend represents actual cash flow determined by ONE’s dividend payout policy.

　日本郵船、商船三井、川崎汽船の海運大手3社は6月16日付で、持分法適用会社であるOCEAN NETWORK EXPRESS（ONE、本社：シンガポール）から3社合計で7億3,200万ドルの配当を受け取る。出資比率は日本郵船38％、商船三井31％、川崎汽船31％。2024年度のONEの業績は好調に推移し、コンテナ船事業も堅調だったことから、各社は出資比率に応じて配当を受ける。

　日本基準の会計処理上、海運大手3社はONEの利益を連結決算において「営業外収益（持分法による投資利益）」として計上する。海運大手３社が連結決算で計上するＯＮＥからの持分法利益は「ＯＮＥの稼いだ利益」に基づく会計上の取り分であり、配当金はＯＮＥの「配当性向（方針）」によって決まる実際のキャッシュフローである。
