「経営に関する重要事項」を発表へ

　Iyogin Holdings (HD) and Ehime Bank announced on 24 July that they will hold a press conference at a hotel in Matsuyama City at 3:30 p.m. on the same day. The two institutions said the subject of the briefing would be “important management matters”.

　Both companies submitted agenda items related to a business integration to their respective boards of directors on the same day.

　According to previous reporting by Maritime Bridge Japan, the combined outstanding balance of ship finance and lending to the ocean-going shipping sector at the two banks totals approximately JPY 2.09 trillion, based on their latest publicly available figures. On a disclosed basis, this would exceed Hiroshima Bank (approximately JPY 1.0193 trillion), Yamaguchi Financial Group (approximately JPY 740 billion), and Fukuoka Bank (approximately JPY 650 billion, including committed credit lines), making it the largest among Japan’s regional banks.

　Ehime Prefecture is home to one of Japan’s largest clusters of shipowners and shipbuilders. If the business integration is formally approved, the announcement is expected to attract close attention not only as a regional banking restructuring but also from maritime industry participants and ship finance professionals in Japan and overseas.

　いよぎんホールディングス（HD）と愛媛銀行は24日、同日午後3時30分から松山市内のホテルで記者会見を開くと発表した。会見内容について、両社は「経営に関する重要事項」としている。

　両社は同日、それぞれ取締役会に経営統合に関する案件を付議した。

　Maritime Bridge Japanの既報によると、両行の船舶・外航海運向け融資残高を直近の公表値で単純合算すると約2兆900億円となり、公表ベースでは広島銀行（約1兆193億円）、山口フィナンシャルグループ（約7400億円）、福岡銀行（コミットメントラインを含め約6500億円）を上回り、主要地方銀行で最大規模となる見通しだ。

　愛媛県は国内最大級の船主・造船クラスターを抱えている。経営統合が正式決定されれば、地域金融の再編にとどまらず、海事関係者や国内外の船舶金融関係者からも会見内容に注目が集まっている。
