The U.S. Department of the Treasury’s Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) announced on June 11 that it has extended the sanctions exemption relating to the Sakhalin-2 oil and gas development project in Russia’s Far East until December 18, 2026.

As a result, deployments of ice-class LNG carriers serving Sakhalin-2, in which major Japanese shipping companies are involved, as well as crude oil transportation to Japan by Aframax tankers, are expected to continue at least until December 18.

　米財務省外国資産管理局（OFAC）は11日、ロシア極東の石油・天然ガス開発事業「サハリン２」に関する制裁適用除外措置を2026年12月18日まで延長すると発表した。

日本の海運大手が関わるサハリン２向け氷海対応LNG船の配船や、アフラマックス型タンカーによる日本向け原油輸送は少なくとも12月18日まで維持される見通しとなった。
