　Idwal, the vessel assurance and inspection services provider based in Cardiff, UK, has announced a partnership with Daiwa Kisen of Fukuoka to launch an independent vessel inspection programme covering selected vessels within the company’s fleet. The initiative is aimed at strengthening vessel condition oversight and enhancing technical decision-making.

　Widely recognised for its strong track record in the sale and purchase (S&P) market, Idwal has in recent years expanded the application of its inspection services to support improvements in the management quality of both operated and owned vessels. Interest is also growing in Japan in third-party condition assessments aimed at enhancing fleet management, and the latest partnership is attracting attention as an example of this trend.

　船舶アシュアランス（船舶評価・検査）サービスを手掛けるIdwal（英国カーディフ）はこのほど、大和汽船（Daiwa Kisen、福岡市）と独立船舶検査で提携し、同社船隊の一部船舶を対象とした検査プログラムを開始すると発表した。船舶状態の監督強化と技術的意思決定の高度化が目的だ。

　中古船売買（S&P）分野で高い実績を持つ同社の検査サービスは、近年、運航船や保有船の管理品質向上にも活用範囲を広げている。日本でも船隊管理の高度化を目的とした第三者機関によるコンディション評価への関心が高まっており、今回の提携もその流れを示す事例として注目される。
