AFMGC due for delivery in November takes on fuel ammonia ahead of sea trials

　NYK said on September 18 that, together with Japan Marine United Corporation (JMU), Nihon Shipyard Co., Ltd., Mitsubishi Gas Chemical Company, Inc. and Kokuka Sangyo Co., Ltd., it completed on September 17 the supply of fuel ammonia by Ship-to-Ship (STS) transfer to an Ammonia-Fueled Medium Gas Carrier (“AFMGC”) scheduled for delivery in November 2026.

　The operation marked the world’s first supply of fuel ammonia to an ammonia-fuelled vessel using the STS method.

　日本郵船は9月18日、ジャパンマリンユナイテッド（JMU）、日本シップヤード、三菱ガス化学、国華産業と共同で、2026年11月に竣工予定のアンモニア燃料アンモニア輸送船（Ammonia-Fueled Medium Gas Carrier、「AFMGC」）に対し、Ship-to-Ship（STS）方式による燃料アンモニアの補給を17日に完了したと発表した。
