Acquires 45% Stake from SBM Offshore

Dutch floating offshore facilities specialist SBM Offshore has entered into a shareholders’ agreement with Nippon Yusen Kabushiki Kaisha (NYK Line) under which a 45% interest in the special purpose company (SPC) responsible for the lease and operation of the FSO (Floating Storage and Offloading unit) Chalchi will be transferred to NYK.

The development is likely to attract attention as a sign of deepening cooperation between the two companies, particularly as SBM Offshore described NYK as a “long-standing partner”.

　オランダの浮体式海洋設備大手SBM Offshoreは、日本郵船（NYK）との間で、FSO（浮体式貯油設備）「Chalchi（チャルチ）」のリースおよび運営事業を担う特別目的会社（SPC）の持分45％を譲渡するための株主間契約を締結した。

SBM Offshoreが日本郵船を「長年のパートナー」と表現した点も含め、両社の協業深化を示す動きとして注目されそうだ。
