　JERA is expanding its LNG business from procurement for Japan to the procurement, shipping and sale of LNG in global markets. Reuters reported on September 17 that Irtiza Sayyed, CEO of JERA Global Energy Solutions (JERA GES), told the news agency in an interview at Gastech in Bangkok, Thailand, that he expected multiple LNG sales deals outside Japan to materialise over the next two years.

　The diversification of both supply sources and sales destinations is also beginning to affect JERA’s LNG shipping strategy.
