LPG shipments from North America to northern Europe to support year-round supply through the Baltic winter while reducing environmental impact

　IINO LINES announced on October 13 that it had deployed its environmentally efficient, ice-class very large gas carrier (VLGC), Lumi Aurora, under a long-term charter contract with petrochemicals major Borouge International.

　With a cargo tank capacity of 93,000 cubic metres, the vessel is among the world’s largest VLGCs to meet Ice Class 1B requirements. It will transport LPG feedstocks from North America to petrochemical facilities in Europe, including Finland.

北米から北欧へLPG輸送、冬季バルト海の安定供給と環境負荷低減を両立

　飯野海運は10月13日、環境配慮型の耐氷仕様大型LPG運搬船（VLGC）「Lumi Aurora」を、石油化学大手ボルージュ・インターナショナル（Borouge International）との長期用船契約に投入したと発表した。

9万3,000立方メートルの貨物タンク容量を持ち、Ice Class 1Bに適合する世界最大級のVLGCとなる。北米からフィンランドなど欧州の石油化学拠点に原料LPGを輸送する。
