Maritime intelligence company Windward has published an analysis indicating that a Chinese research vessel sailed in a square-shaped pattern around Okinotorishima between 6 and 10 October, crossing the route of a submarine communications cable linking Guam and Japan five times.

The vessel moved into the Philippine Sea after repeatedly conducting survey operations in the Pacific east of Japan in September.

　海事情報分析会社ウインドワード（Windward）は、中国の調査船が10月6～10日に沖ノ鳥島周辺で四角形を描くように航行し、グアムと日本を結ぶ海底通信ケーブルの敷設ルートを5回横断したとする分析を公表した。
