Norwegian shipping company G2 Ocean announced changes to its management structure on 20 October, effective 1 January 2027. Gearbulk, the company’s majority shareholder, will also have a new chief executive from 1 January 2027.

Kristian Jebsen, Chair and CEO of Gearbulk and Executive Chair of G2 Ocean, will step down from his positions at both companies.

Gearbulk is a Norwegian shipping company owned 72% by Mitsui O.S.K. Lines (MOL) and 28% by Marubeni Corporation. The leadership changes mark a significant development following the restructuring of the company’s ownership under Japanese corporate control.
