European shipowners welcomed the European Commission’s proposal to earmark part of the revenues generated by the EU Emissions Trading System (EU ETS) for maritime decarbonization, describing it as a long-awaited step in the right direction, but warning at the same time that the measures do not go far enough to safeguard the competitiveness of Europe’s shipping industry.

　欧州船主協会（ECSA）は、欧州委員会がEU排出量取引制度（EU ETS）の収入の一部を海運業界の脱炭素化に充てることを提案したことについて、「長年待ち望まれていた前向きな一歩」と歓迎した。一方、欧州海運業の競争力を守るための措置としては依然として不十分であるとの認識を示した。
