Highly Praises Oshima Shipbuilding, Discusses Fleet Expansion and Entry into Tanker Business

Basil Sakellis, Chief Executive Officer of Alassia Shipping, spoke with Maritime Bridge Japan and reaffirmed the company’s strong commitment to the Japanese market.

Building on a fleet of 12 owned vessels, the company is expanding long-term time charter arrangements and projects with purchase options together with Japanese shipowners.

He described Oshima Shipbuilding as “the best Kamsarmax builder in the market” and expressed a strong willingness to expand cooperation with Japan.

He also spoke candidly about the impact of the Strait of Hormuz crisis, the company’s first move into the MR tanker segment and its response to increasingly stringent ship management regulations. （Interviewer Hirofumi Yamamoto）

　ギリシャ船主アラシア・シッピングのバジル・サケリス最高経営責任者（CEO）はMaritime Bridge Japanのインタビューに応じ、日本市場への強いコミットメントを改めて示した。同社は保有船隊12隻を基盤に、日本の船主との長期定期用船契約（TC）や購入オプション付きプロジェクトを拡大している。

　サケリスCEOは大島造船について「市場で最高のカムサマックスビルダー」と高く評価し、日本との協力関係をさらに拡大したい考えを示した。ホルムズ海峡危機の影響や同社初となるMR型プロダクトタンカー事業への参入、厳格化する船舶管理規制への対応についても率直に語った。（聞き手　山本裕史）
