Mexican Authorities Continue to Withhold Departure Clearance, JPY2.4bn Extraordinary Gain Offset by Continuing Maintenance Costs

メキシコ当局が出港認めず、24億円特別利益も維持管理負担続く

Kyoei Tanker has announced that its MR product tanker CHALLENGE PROCYON (45,996 dwt, built in 2011, IMO 9527403), which has remained unable to obtain departure clearance from Mexico for an extended period, has been recognised as a Constructive Total Loss (CTL) under its marine insurance policy. The company has also reached agreement with its insurers regarding payment of the insurance proceeds.

The insurers have elected not to take ownership of the vessel, leaving the shipowner with the potential to retain future economic benefits should commercial operations eventually resume.
