Jotaro Tamura, President and Chief Executive Officer of Mitsui O.S.K. Lines, Ltd. (MOL), joined Osaka Shosen Mitsui Senpaku Co., Ltd. in 1991. Inspired by a backpacking trip to India during his university years, he developed a strong international outlook and, early in his career, gained experience in Atlantic shipping business and an overseas posting in London.
”We will continue to place shipping at the core of our business while expanding into social infrastructure,” Tamura said. Maritime Bridge Japan spoke with him about his career, the future direction of MOL and the company’s long-term strategy. (Interviewer: Hirofumi Yamamoto)
