According to Xinhua News Agency, the Istanbul Bridge, a container vessel deployed by Sea Legend, a new container shipping company believed to be backed by Chinese capital, arrived in the United Kingdom on 13 October after travelling roughly 20 days via the Northern Sea Route (NSR) in the Arctic.

→ The ship, which departed Ningbo-Zhoushan Port on 20 September, marks the first practical voyage by a container vessel of around 4,800 TEU class (with approximately 4,000 TEU loaded on this occasion). Compared with the China–Europe Railway (about 25 days), the Suez Canal route (around 40 days) or the Cape of Good Hope route (some 50 days), the journey represents a substantial reduction in transit time.

→ Sea Legend, understood to be the operator, plans sequential calls at major ports in the United Kingdom, Germany, Poland and the Netherlands. 　新華社通信によると、中国資本とされる新興のコンテナ船社Sea Legendが配船したコンテナ船「イスタンブール・ブリッジ」が、北極海の北東航路（NSR）を経由して10月13日に約20日間で英国に到着した。

→同船は9月20日に寧波舟山港を出発した約4800TEU級（今回の積み高は約4000TEU）のコンテナ船としては初の実用航行例となり、中国―欧州鉄道（約25日）、スエズ運河経由（約40日）、喜望峰回り（約50日）と比べても大幅な短縮を示した。
