Miyaji Salvage (Miyaji Salvage, Tadotsu-cho, Nakatado-gun, Kagawa Prefecture) conducts ship dismantling operations on a coastal site of approximately 25,000 square metres, located about ten minutes by car from JR Tadotsu Station.

In 2012, it became a wholly owned subsidiary of SHIMABUN Corporation (President: Kensuke Kitani). SHIMABUN Corporation, headquartered in Kobe, Hyogo Prefecture, is one of Japan’s leading comprehensive recycling companies, with core businesses in raw material supply to steel manufacturers, industrial waste processing, and metal scrap operations.

→ Miyaji Salvage dismantles around one vessel per month and approximately 12 vessels per year, mainly domestic vessels of 499 gross tonnes. It employs 25 workers. The workforce is ageing, and operations continue under harsh conditions such as extreme heat in summer and cold winds in winter. Nevertheless, Miyaji Salvage continues its work in order to fulfil its mission of “dismantling Japan’s vessels — the world’s third-largest shipowning nation — and supplying high-quality scrap,” thereby taking the lead in shaping the future of Japan’s ship recycling industry.

　宮地サルベージ（Miyaji Salvage、香川県仲多郡多度津町）は、JR多度津駅から車で約10分、臨海部に約25,000平方メートルの敷地を構え、船舶解体作業を進めている。
