Kyoei Tanker’s TENZAN Passes Through as Traffic Begins to Recover Following US-Iran Memorandum
共栄タンカー「TENZAN」通過、米・イラン覚書で通航回復へ
Japan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Foreign Minister Toshimitsu Motegi announced on 19 June that one Japan-related vessel which had been stranded inside the Persian Gulf had safely transited the Strait of Hormuz and exited the Gulf.
According to industry sources and AIS (Automatic Identification System) data, the vessel is believed to be the VLCC (Very Large Crude Carrier) TENZAN, owned and operated by Kyoei Tanker.

TENZAN is a crude oil tanker built in 2020, with IMO No. 9851593, registered under the Liberian flag and carrying capacity of 312,524 dwt.
The vessel is understood to have three Japanese crew members on board. As a result, all Japan-related vessels carrying Japanese crew members have now evacuated from the Persian Gulf.

共栄タンカー「TENZAN」通過、米・イラン覚書で通航回復へ
外務省と茂木敏充外相は19日、ペルシャ湾内に滞留していた日本関係船舶1隻がホルムズ海峡を無事通過し、ペルシャ湾外へ退避したと相次いで発表した。関係者やAIS(船舶自動識別装置)情報から、同船は共栄タンカーが保有・運航するVLCC(大型原油タンカー)「TENZAN」とみられる。
TENZANは2020年竣工の原油タンカーで、IMO番号9851593、リベリア船籍、載貨重量トン数(DWT)31万2524トンだ。船内には日本人乗組員3人が乗船しているとされ、これにより日本人が乗船する日本関係船舶は全てペルシャ湾外へ退避した。
