 Key players from Japan’s shipbuilding, shipping, cargo-owner and government sectors have come together publicly as the country seeks to restart domestic construction of LNG (liquefied natural gas) carriers. The Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism held a meeting on 21 August attended by transport minister Yasushi Kaneko, Imabari Shipbuilding, Kawasaki Heavy Industries, Namura Shipbuilding, the Japanese Shipowners’ Association and JERA, among others.

 国産LNG(液化天然ガス)運搬船の建造再開に向け、造船、海運、荷主、政府の主要関係者が公の場にそろった。国土交通省は21日、金子恭之国土交通相と今治造船、川崎重工業、名村造船所、日本船主協会、JERAなどによる懇談会を開催した。
