　Mitsui O.S.K. Lines (MOL) said on September 29 that it had signed an outsourcing agreement covering the operation and related services of the Arctic research vessel MIRAI II, owned by the Japan Agency for Marine-Earth Science and Technology (JAMSTEC). MOL was selected as the vessel’s prospective operator in 2023 and has since been building its operational structure, including training for seafarers.
