Jan Rindbo, chief executive officer (CEO) of Danish shipping group DS NORDEN, said that the company’s relationships with Japanese shipowners, spanning more than 50 years, had supported its growth. He made the remarks on “Millionærklubben CEO”, a Danish financial podcast released on 23 October 2026.

During the interview, which lasted approximately 45 minutes, he discussed NORDEN’s fleet strategy based on charter agreements with purchase options, demand to replace ageing vessels from 2030 onwards, disruption in the Strait of Hormuz, and the use of artificial intelligence to optimise vessel deployment.

Maritime Bridge Japan presents selected questions and answers from the interview, based on a Danish-language transcript. The questions and answers have been translated into Japanese and edited while preserving the substance of the original remarks.
