The International Maritime Organization (IMO) has announced the recipients and commendation awardees of the 2026 IMO Award for Exceptional Bravery at Sea.

The top award will be presented posthumously to Norwegian rescue diver Adrian Willyson Brask, who lost his life while taking part in rescue operations following the capsize of a recreational fishing vessel.

Captain Fumitaka Okamura of Mitsui O.S.K. Lines (MOL), together with the crew of the LNG carrier LNG SATURN, who were nominated by Japan, have been selected to receive a Letter of Commendation.

　国際海事機関（IMO）はこのほど、「2026 IMO Award for Exceptional Bravery at Sea（海上特別勇敢賞）」の受賞・表彰対象を発表した。最高賞は、ノルウェーで遊漁船転覆事故の救助活動中に殉職した救助ダイバー、アドリアン・ウィリーソン・ブラスク氏に死後授与される。

　日本から推薦された商船三井の岡村文隆船長とLNG船「LNG SATURN」の乗組員には、「Letter of Commendation（表彰状）」の授与が決まった。
