K Line said on 15 July that a consortium formed with NYK, MISC Berhad and China LNG Shipping (Holdings) Limited held a naming ceremony on 14 July at HD Hyundai Heavy Industries Co., Ltd. in South Korea for the 174,000-cubic-metre LNG carrier HALWAN, which is owned through a joint venture company funded by the four partners.

The vessel is the second of three LNG carriers to be placed under the ship management of the K Line group, steadily adding to its ship management track record in the LNG carrier business.

　川崎汽船は15日、同社と日本郵船、MISC Berhad、China LNG Shipping（Holdings） Limitedが組成したコンソーシアムが、4社共同出資の合弁会社を通じて保有するQatarEnergy向け17万4000立方メートル型LNG船「HALWAN」の命名式を7月14日に韓国のHD現代重工業（HD Hyundai Heavy Industries Co., Ltd.）で開催したと発表した。

川崎汽船グループが船舶管理を担う3隻のうち2隻目に当たり、LNG輸送船事業における船舶管理実績を着実に積み重ねる1隻となる。
