This Capital Link Trending News webinar, hosted by Mr. Nicolas Bornozis, President of Capital Link, featured a discussion with Mr. Sotiris Raptis , Secretary General of European Shipowners | ECSA , on the European Commission’s proposed revision of the EU Emissions Trading System (EU ETS) for shipping.

Mr. Sotiris Raptis explained the proposal’s key elements, including a lowered climate target and the allocation of ETS revenues, emphasizing that the shipping industry’s annual contribution of 9 billion euros is significant. He highlighted concerns about competitiveness, the risk of double regulation with future IMO measures, and the need for the EU to commit to withdrawing its measures once a global agreement is in place.

欧州船主協会、海運業界のEU ETS拠出金90億ユーロの半分を移行支援に充当するよう要求

　キャピタル・リンク(Capital Link)のニコラス・ボルノジス(Nicolas Bornozis)社長が司会を務めた今回の「Capital Link Trending News」ウェビナーでは、欧州船主協会(European Shipowners | ECSA)のソティリス・ラプティス(Sotiris Raptis)事務局長を迎え、欧州委員会が提案している海運分野のEU排出量取引制度(EU ETS)改正について議論した。

　ラプティス氏は、気候変動対策目標の引き下げやETS収入の配分など、今回の提案の主要項目について説明し、海運業界が年間90億ユーロを拠出していることの大きさを強調した。同氏は、競争力への懸念、将来の国際海事機関(IMO)の措置との二重規制のリスク、世界的な合意が成立した場合にはEUが独自措置を撤回すると約束する必要性を指摘した。
